Tour 1
King Ludwig II quotation
'An everlasting mystery - will I be - for me - and others'
Myth and Reality -- Glory and Tragedy
We wander and discuss
In a dreamlike landscape we follow King Ludwig's trails
and enjoy his paradise.
Tour 2
Schwansee parc - Kalvarienberg - Füssen
A tour into the King's Nook ( Königswinkel)
A nice tour on foot into the King's Nook through parcs and forests
1. Schwansee parc
Here the Prince Ludwig grew up, he rode on horseback, and swam in the lake.
His father King Maximillian II has let shape this land as an english parc -
Today the riding track is a marshy land again
The nature spreaded out again- with an extraordinary alpine flora.
We feel perfect harmony - above the lake surrounded by the mountains- and
higher above King Ludwig's dream the famous Castle Neuschwanstein.
We enjoy the breathtaking panorama.
2. Kalvarienberg ( stations of the Cross)- Füssen
We follow the ' Königssträßchen'
We like the magnificent view around on the top of the Kalvarienberg across the medieval town.
Down above the river Lech the Acncient Part of Füssen, encircled by the city wall, - the worldly part,
but still dominating is the former Benediktiner monastery
higher above the St. Mang Church with the isolated old Clock Tower .
Over all the Hohe Schloß -'High Palace' , a Late Gothic residence figuring a medieval casle.
we wander down following the stations of the Cross into the City.
we meet the&nb
138f
sp;piety of the 19 th century.
The Lech bridge is the entrance into the Ancient City.
The Lech porch at this point was broken off at 1806.
We recommend normally to have a break in one of the Cafes.
We have the possibility just strolling through the town,
which shall make curious.
We can go back over the Kalvarienberg -
who is too tired can take the bus home.
